Our Travel Team set off for Nusa Dua looking to enjoy a break from the busy family resorts and overbearing beachfront mega-complexes that usually pepper our Bali trips, and we weren’t disappointed with our utterly relaxing destination: Amarterra Villas Bali Nusa Dua.

One of Bali’s largest all-villa resorts, Amarterra is a place where guests can indulge in some uncompromised R&R and pure pampering amid the beauty of a pristine natural setting.

If you’re looking to unwind in the lap of paradise, then this is the place for you…

The Destination

A peaceful oasis far-removed from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak, the resort and leisure district of Nusa Dua on Bali’s scintillating south-east coast is the perfect destination for a tranquil tropical escape. With the ideal combination of pristine coastlines, uncrowded beaches, a culturally-enriched local community and an amazing array of world-class resorts; Nusa Dua effortlessly sets the scene for a relaxing getaway.

The Resort

Situated in the sun-drenched paradise of Nusa Dua in Bali’s scenic south-west, Amarterra Villas offers luxurious accommodation and top-notch service against a serene tropical backdrop right next to the iconic Bali Collection Shopping Centre and just moments away from pristine beaches.

Amarterra Villas is a MGallery property, Accor’s ‘Memorable Collection’ arm of Sofitel which is comprised of only the finest luxury accommodation venues. Amarterra is no exception to that rule and boasts a 2015 TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award as well as a coveted nomination at the 2015 World Luxury Hotel Awards.

With all this in mind, we set off from Denpasar airport with high hopes and arrived at the boutique property after a scenic 30-minute drive.

We were immediately struck by Amarterra’s impressive entryway with gorgeous parallel ponds and an authentic temple-like facade crowning a tiered staircase. The open-air lobby is breezy and inviting with a cosy sitting area and two striking amber sculptures serving as bookends.

The Rooms

The property is comprised of just 39 opulent Balinese villas that represent the melding of traditional decor accents with modern technology. The villas are scattered throughout fragrant tropical gardens blooming with native hibiscus flowers and mini waterfalls, while the melodic clacking of handcrafted wind chimes fill the air.

We were lucky enough to stay in a spectacular 200sqm One-Bedroom Villa featuring our very own private pool!

The villa also featured a plush king-size bed, luxurious marble ensuite bathroom with romantic indoor/outdoor shower, Jacuzzi spa bath and premium amenities by Aromatherapy Associates.

An outdoor dining and lounge area with flat-screen TV, complimentary mini-bar (replenished daily), canopied outdoor day-bed, and complimentary Wi-Fi access completed the picture.

Although we had very little reason to leave the plush environs of our villa, guests can help themselves to the resort’s handy on-site facilities, including the Spa, Fitness Centre and even an impressive meeting room for those conducting some business while on holiday.

During our stay, our group was fortunate enough to indulge in two mouth-watering multi-course dining experiences at the in-house eatery. We noshed on delectable dishes like char-grilled wagyu beef sirloin with truffle potato fritters, asparagus and shallot jus – a culinary triumph!

Grand Hyatt Bali

The engaging Bali Nusa Dua Theatre is also nearby – where the incredible Devdan Cultural Show takes centre stage and leave audiences spellbound with a mix of traditional song, dance and flair.

And of course, who could forget Nusa Dua’s gorgeous sun-drenched beaches! Amarterra offers a complimentary shuttle service to the resort’s very own private beach club – a great way to spend a lazy afternoon in paradise.

The waterfront wonderland of Jimbaran Bay and it’s tempting beachfront seafood restaurants is also just 15-minutes away.

“My Husband and I treated ourselves for our Wedding Anniversary, what an amazing place, truly beautiful. The staff are all wonderful and very helpful. The food at the restaurant was 5 star quality, The Villa itself was just beautiful, they have thought of everything you could possibly need, it was hard to leave. We will definitely be returning next year for our Anniversary again. Thank you again Roni and staff for a truly lovely holiday experience.”

“Words cannot express just how amazing Amarterra Villas are. From the moment you enter you are blown away with the architecture of the lobby area which is surrounded by water and lights. The staff were more than helpful in every way, what I enjoyed the most was the ritual cleansing of the villa and yourself before entering. The staff also made us a traditional band that many Indonesians wear (red, black and white) signifying different stages of life, this was such a special touch that I shall never forget. The location is practically next door to the beach and a short walk or a free taxi (provided by the Amarterra) to the Bali collection which has some amazing restaurants. The pictures do not do the villas justice, they are even more beautiful in real life! and they look amazing in the pictures! We had breakfast delivered in the morning which was fit for a king. If you require luxury this is certainly the place to be. We hope to return soon. Thank you.”
